The 2015 Byte Of Data Advent Calendar

I asked twenty four of my online friends to contribute a 'byte-sized' message for the 2015 Byte Of Data Advent Calendar.

The concept is quite simple - each day from 1st to 24th December I will reveal a new piece of exclusive content that my friends have kindly contributed.

What kind of content will be shared?

There is all sorts of content...

For starters there is an Online Giveaway that will run up to Christmas Eve. Plus there are assorted discount coupons and free downloads.

Then there are some quotes to inspire and motivate you, some stunning original photography and art work, plus some solid advice and tips for making your online presence a success.

How will the content be delivered?

I've got a mixture to keep everyone happy, from simple words to video presentations - all exclusive to the Advent Calendar.

I know you're going to love it.

Tune in each day to see what gifts our stars have to share... #AdventCalendar #contentmarketing #bloggingtips

The Most Important Thing When Making a Decision

Whether you are a freelancer prospecting for clients, an entrepreneur looking for business opportunities, or a blogger trying to increase social reach and audience, you should always employ this three-step process:

  1. Gather information.
  2. Test.
  3. Make a decision based on your own experience and goals, not on what others tell you.

- - Don’t do something only because someone told you it’s true - -

Here’s an example how trying for yourself can make all the difference...

Never follow blindly other people’s advice.

Their experience may or may not be relevant to your situation and goals. Always try things for yourself and make decisions based on your own experiences.

Are you building your blog on "rented land"?

It's so easy to rely on a particular promotional channel to send traffic and new readers.

Maybe it's SEO, or maybe it's a specific social network. Whatever it is, you need to make sure that if that channel dries up, your blog won't turn into a ghost town.

Back when Facebook started making changes to it's newsfeed, some bloggers suddenly lost all of their traffic.Facebook posts that were once reaching 100% of their readers were then only reaching around 6%. That's a crazy drop.

Others rely on solely on SEO, or a different social network - either way, the results are the same when a traffic source dries up and it's a horrible feeling.

So what can you do?

Two important things to remember

The first one may seem counter-intuitive, but the most important thing for an entrepreneur, blogger or person in general to do is to fail and make mistakes.

You can only learn from your mistakes. Successes will NEVER teach you anything because they'll usually be based on what you learned from prior mistakes.

That's why it's important to not be afraid of making mistakes because those that are, never achieve success they truly desire.

The second thing I want to share is a four letter word many entrepreneurs and bloggers are afraid of:

That's the main strategy that separates the pros from the amateurs.

Never become complacent with things. Always test, test and retest to see if you can do things better and get better results. It can be time consuming, but the results are usually rewarding.

Andrew M. Warner is a blogging junkie and the founder of, where he helps bloggers and entrepreneurs grow their blogs from nothing into something amazing with practical advice.

It's that time of the year again and there's nothing better than helping others.

Today, I have a couple things to share with you.

1. I have a created an SEO Checklist that you can download and print out. Your team will love it.

2. Here's a Google Analytics Dashboard Template that you can use to track your site's SEO. (David wrote a guest post recently and this will go great with it.)

I want to thank David for this opportunity. It's great to be able to give back.

If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.

Happy Holidays everybody! 🙂

Promote Your Content
ron sela
"Great content does NOT promote itself on merit; this is the greatest fallacy in content marketing." ~ [Kenneth Waldman]

Ron Sela, Profit Driven Marketer at

Here are some words of wisdom following a very interesting year for me:

After searching long and hard, I have found that there is no silver bullet in marketing and business (trust me I looked).

Instead, there is only hard work, trial and error and going with what is working for you right now.

So don't waste your time looking for more content to read, more courses to consume or more gurus to follow.

Find something that sounds like it could work for you and your business.

  • Try it.
  • Measure if it works.
  • Move on to the next thing if it doesn't.

3 Blogging Gifts

- - Quote - -

Just as you do not judge a person by her or his face, do not judge a hosting by its name.

- - Strategy - -

Try to hit many goals with one post - get traffic, make money, develop relationships, do a favor, seek a favor, enhance authority, build your list, increase your blog rank, reach out to the new audience, and make irresistible offers.

- - Tip - -

Do not try to hatch the egg before time; let your blog mature and then think of money.

Entrepreneurs need to eat too!

Eating breakfast is one of my big wins this year. Seriously, I used to skip it…like, often.

Then I discovered...

  • If I make it in advance, I WILL eat it
  • If I eat it, I will be nourished
  • If I’m nourished, I’m more productive
  • If I’m more productive, I win

I know…wayyyy too simple!

So, what are good make-ahead-breakfasts?

I have two favorites:

1) Crustless Quiche

2) Steel Cut Oatmeal for Two

...Let me know if you have any questions, or want to share your own breakfast wins. I will love hearing from you in any capacity.
