The 2015 Byte Of Data Advent Calendar
I asked twenty four of my online friends to contribute a 'byte-sized' message for the 2015 Byte Of Data Advent Calendar.
The concept is quite simple - each day from 1st to 24th December I will reveal a new piece of exclusive content that my friends have kindly contributed.
What kind of content will be shared?
There is all sorts of content...
For starters there is an Online Giveaway that will run up to Christmas Eve. Plus there are assorted discount coupons and free downloads.
Then there are some quotes to inspire and motivate you, some stunning original photography and art work, plus some solid advice and tips for making your online presence a success.
How will the content be delivered?
I've got a mixture to keep everyone happy, from simple words to video presentations - all exclusive to the Advent Calendar.
I know you're going to love it.
Tune in each day to see what gifts our stars have to share... #AdventCalendar #contentmarketing #bloggingtips
Make sure you come back each day to see the latest revelation.

The Most Important Thing When Making a Decision
Whether you are a freelancer prospecting for clients, an entrepreneur looking for business opportunities, or a blogger trying to increase social reach and audience, you should always employ this three-step process:
- Gather information.
- Make a decision based on your own experience and goals, not on what others tell you.
- - Don’t do something only because someone told you it’s true - -
Here’s an example how trying for yourself can make all the difference...
Many people today say Upwork (formerly oDesk) is an awful site, filled with cheap labor and low quality clients. I was told I would never make a good living through the platform and shouldn’t waste my time with it.
Should I have listened six years ago, I would have missed a great opportunity to kick-start my freelance practice. Today I still find high-paying clients and interesting projects through the platform. More importantly, I enjoy the freelance lifestyle because I didn’t listen then but I tried for myself.
Never follow blindly other people’s advice.
Their experience may or may not be relevant to your situation and goals. Always try things for yourself and make decisions based on your own experiences.

Are you building your blog on "rented land"?
It's so easy to rely on a particular promotional channel to send traffic and new readers.
Maybe it's SEO, or maybe it's a specific social network. Whatever it is, you need to make sure that if that channel dries up, your blog won't turn into a ghost town.
Back when Facebook started making changes to it's newsfeed, some bloggers suddenly lost all of their traffic.Facebook posts that were once reaching 100% of their readers were then only reaching around 6%. That's a crazy drop.
Others rely on solely on SEO, or a different social network - either way, the results are the same when a traffic source dries up and it's a horrible feeling.
So what can you do?

ANDREW M. WARNER
Two important things to remember
The first one may seem counter-intuitive, but the most important thing for an entrepreneur, blogger or person in general to do is to fail and make mistakes.
That's why it's important to not be afraid of making mistakes because those that are, never achieve success they truly desire.
The second thing I want to share is a four letter word many entrepreneurs and bloggers are afraid of:
Never become complacent with things. Always test, test and retest to see if you can do things better and get better results. It can be time consuming, but the results are usually rewarding.
Andrew M. Warner is a blogging junkie and the founder of ShadeOfInfo.com, where he helps bloggers and entrepreneurs grow their blogs from nothing into something amazing with practical advice.
It's that time of the year again and there's nothing better than helping others.
Today, I have a couple things to share with you.
I want to thank David for this opportunity. It's great to be able to give back.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
Happy Holidays everybody! 🙂

MAD DOGS STREET PROJECT
It's the last day of Advent and time to reflect on those less fortunate than ourselves.
Mad Dogs Street Project is a local initiative that our family are involved with. Perhaps you have a similar organisation near you who could do with a hand?
Here are some words of wisdom following a very interesting year for me:
After searching long and hard, I have found that there is no silver bullet in marketing and business (trust me I looked).
Instead, there is only hard work, trial and error and going with what is working for you right now.
So don't waste your time looking for more content to read, more courses to consume or more gurus to follow.
Find something that sounds like it could work for you and your business.
- Try it.
- Measure if it works.
- Move on to the next thing if it doesn't.

Increase Your Online Earning Potential with Your Own Product
The best way to increase your earning potential online is by having your own product.
Here's 4 reasons why...
- First off, you keep 100% of the profits on every single sale.
- You also "get" the customer. A verified buyer. Someone who bought from YOU. They took the chance and gave you money. If you provide quality products or services, they will be much more likely to buy more from YOU.
- Best yet, you build a buyers list, which can be the most profitable list you could have at your disposal.
- Being a product owner can also build up your credibility. It can elevate you to author, expert or guru status. What do you think happens when your name or business gets known? It brings you more business and more opportunity.
Private Label Rights
What's the easy way to have your own product? PLR or private label rights of course. They allow you to edit, change and call it your own, in many formats, ebooks, video and more.
Ron Killian is an online marketer and owner of The PLR Store - the one-stop shop for all your PLR products. Having started with affiliate marketing he is now focused on selling digital products, mostly Private Label Rights.

3 Blogging Gifts
- - Quote - -
Just as you do not judge a person by her or his face, do not judge a hosting by its name.
- - Strategy - -
Try to hit many goals with one post - get traffic, make money, develop relationships, do a favor, seek a favor, enhance authority, build your list, increase your blog rank, reach out to the new audience, and make irresistible offers.
- - Tip - -
Do not try to hatch the egg before time; let your blog mature and then think of money.

If you're the boss you don't have to look for a job
I don't think anyone will really be looking for a job after an office party…
But if you've got the freedom of being your own boss, enjoy that too.

THE KITCHEN GIRL
Entrepreneurs need to eat too!
Eating breakfast is one of my big wins this year. Seriously, I used to skip it…like, often.
Then I discovered...
- If I make it in advance, I WILL eat it
- If I eat it, I will be nourished
- If I’m nourished, I’m more productive
- If I’m more productive, I win
I know…wayyyy too simple!
So, what are good make-ahead-breakfasts?
I have two favorites:
1) Crustless Quiche
Basically an egg casserole that’s loaded with veggies and skips the crust. We bake it on Sunday, cool it down, cut into pieces, pre-pack into containers, and pack into lunch boxes each day. Heat in microwave when ready…or eat cold.
2) Steel Cut Oatmeal for Two
Lightly sweetened, Omega-3 abundant, creamy, warm, steel-cut oatmeal breakfast for two.
